Endodontist, supporting general dentists and their patients
Dr. James Thomas grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University for his undergraduate and graduate studies in Biology-Zoology with the goal of becoming a marine biologist. Finding it a natural path to dentistry, he then went on to earn his DDS degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. After a few years of practicing general dentistry, he decided to specialize in endodontics and returned to UDM for his second master's degree and certificate in endodontics.
Dr. Thomas specializes in both root canals and microsurgery, which is a type of surgery that is performed on very small structures using specialized instruments. He has also been published in the Journal of Endodontics and is passionate about providing the best possible care for his patients. Staying up-to-date and doing dental research is an important part of his life and career.
He is board-eligible through the American Board of Endodontics and has been practicing since 2007. Having been in practice for nearly two decades, he has had the opportunity to serve patients from all walks of life. Whether it’s a young family just starting out or a retiree who wants to keep their smile looking its best, he enjoys being able to help them achieve their goals.
In his free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, staying busy with travel soccer in addition to school activities, and their SheepaDoodle (Old English sheepdog and poodle mix), Poppy. He is also an avid skier and loves to hit the slopes out west whenever he can. He looks forward to one day making good on his goal of working as a marine biologist.
Whatever your situation, Dr. Thomas will work with you to find a stress-free treatment plan that fits your needs.
