Special Message From Dr. Whitney Weiner on Safety Measures

In these current times, it is more important than ever to think about safety precautions relating to your health. Dr. Whitney Weiner lays out everything we’ve done to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, and what to expect when coming back to our offices. Read below for detailed account of our new precautions.

What's PPE?

PPE stands for Personal Protective Equipment. Besides Lakeshore Dental Specialists' superior commitment to standard safety precautions.

New protective equipment will be in place to guarantee maximum safety. Dentists and other team members will be wearing extremely high-grade, KN95 masks complete with a 3D printed custom mask fitter and an extra mask for cover. These masks are the gold-standard for healthcare workers and providing a 3D, custom milled fitter for each team member allows a truly custom fit and seal. In addition to improved masks, providers will also wear plastic face shields for certain procedures, additional gowns, and head-coverings. These extra layers (literally) of precaution create a safe environment for both patients and staff.

OZONE Protection

For another level of protection, Lakeshore Dental Specialists has taken the extra step of using new technology to fight COVID-19 even while the office is closed. Each location now has a SanusAer High Output Ozone machine to sanitize overnight. Coronavirus is weak against Ozone gas, which kills 99% of viruses in 30 seconds or less. This amazing machine releases green-friendly Ozone gas at night to cover all surfaces and purify the air itself. Along with ozone, we have medify air HEPA H13 filters and have installed UV lights in our HVAC units. These three layers are helping provide our team, and patients the most surgically clean air possible.

These extra measures will continue to ensure a safe visit to see your dental provider.

Tooth pain is one of the most preventable causes for emergency room visits in the United States. It is important that you and your family are able to see your Detroit dentist without fear. Lakeshore Dental Specialists is taking the steps to make sure your next visit will be safe and pleasant.

Wellness Screening

On top of the new equipment, new health questionnaires and check-ins will help keep all patients healthy when visiting their dentist.

Staff members will be answering a daily health checklist to make sure they are healthy and ready to see patients. Further, patients will be required to answer similar questions when calling to schedule an appointment and all patients temperatures will be taken upon check-in. Any patient who has symptoms will be asked to contact their primary health provider first as a precaution and will be reappointed.
